Mobile solar cell "Violetta Solar Gear VS01"

This is a solar charger for AA and AAA rechargeable nickel-metal hydride batteries, mobile phones, and portable AV devices.

Product Overview This is a pocket-sized universal portable solar power system that can charge AA and AAA batteries, as well as supply power to various small mobile devices such as mobile phones, PDAs, and portable AV equipment. It is the original mobile solar cell that won the Good Design Award in 2001 and the Special Award from the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, known for its long life and long-selling history. Main Features It can charge two rechargeable nickel-hydride batteries "Violetta" in AA or AAA size (sold separately) simultaneously using solar power. Additionally, by connecting multiple units with a "DC power cable" (sold separately), rapid charging is possible. By attaching a "USB power adapter" (sold separately) and connecting it to mobile devices with a DC input of 4V to 6V, such as mobile phones, PDAs, and portable AV equipment, you can charge their batteries using commercially available USB charging cables. If the rechargeable nickel-hydride batteries "Violetta" are charged in advance, they can be used even when there is no sunlight. By connecting to mobile devices with a DC input of 3V using a "DC power cable," you can supply power to those devices. If the rechargeable nickel-hydride batteries "Violetta" are charged in advance, they can be used even when there is no sunlight.

Tohoku University Technology: Solar Cell: T12-157

High-efficiency solar cells made of environmentally friendly nitride semiconductors.

The nitride semiconductor InGaAlN can almost cover the entire solar spectrum, and its constituent elements are also environmentally friendly. Unlike conventional semiconductors, nitride semiconductors do not have lattice-matched substrates, resulting in many defects within the crystal. In solar cells, it is necessary to efficiently extract photo carriers. As a strategy for this, a device structure that utilizes the spontaneously occurring polarization electric field within the crystal has been proposed. To realize this structure, it is essential to have growth techniques that control the polarity of the crystal (the arrangement order of constituent atoms along the thin film crystal growth direction), particularly nitrogen (N) polarity growth techniques. Tohoku University has successfully achieved N polarity growth earlier than anywhere else in the world and has fabricated N polarity solar cells. Experimental verification has shown that the extraction efficiency of photo carriers is more than eight times greater compared to Ga polarity solar cells.
